Hi everyone :) I need a bit of help here.
It's my mums birthday in January, and both me and my mum would like to go drag hunting, so I was thinking we could go as a treat for her birthday. I am 16 and quite an advanced rider, but not overly confident. My mum is 50 and is also an advanced rider but doesn't want to do too much jumping.
We would love to take our own horses but this simply can't happen because our horses are getting older, and have never hunted before and don't jump very much, never mind being fit enough. They also don't load very well, so we just can't use our own horses.
Is there any way we could hire a couple of hunting horses from anywhere to take drag hunting? How much would this cost? Where?
We live in Sheffield but we could go somewhere else. How would we go about joining a hunting group?
I need a lot of help! Haha
Thank you very much :)

If you have a quick google you should find out which hunts are local to you, you can then choose one which sounds the most suitable and email the secretary, she'll be able to tell you more about the specific hunt and should know the best place to get hirelings from.
Most hunts have a jumping and non-jumping field so you can choose what you want to jump if you're lacking confidence :)
Have a great time!
