Right my morag wafting sex muffins, I am on the hunt for a new pony, and it's not going terribly well! I found the PERFECT horse (advertised in H&H with the tag line "Steady Eddie") but he failed the vet, so it's back to square one.

I am terribly fussy I'm afraid, so, the ideal horse is -

17.2hh or over, not bay but would consider a bay if it was PERFECT, between 5 and 9yrs, established over fences and on the flat - will be showjumping competitively so much show potential, and will be doing dressage for fun. Ideally a branded warmblood - love my foreign neddies, budget of £10,000 but could go higher for the dream horse. Must be sensible and safe, but ideally with a bit about it still if that makes any sense at all.

Right you fitties, onwards - find me a nag.

awww I liked him as well! what did he fail on just interested! xx

Lameness! Very lame behind when lunged on a hard surface, and very very lame behind post flexion. Vet didn't even finish the vetting - phoned me halfway through and said "Don't do it". I was heartbroken - he was such a wonderful boy!

Thank you all for the suggestions - some lovely ponies to consider.

I have found nice, but underwhelming horses for your wants I have to say...

How's about a leggy chestnut?

Bit short, green and north for you, but SO PRETTY!

Missing the flashy WB bit sadly (but nice looking ID, and who doesn't want to own a horse called Hullaballoo!?)

There really aren't any non-bay WBs with a bit of je ne said quoi showing up on my searches though... I know certainly in my area (Central Scotland), you'd need to go to local SJ yards that buy in youngstock and bring them on to get the type that you're after, and that requires knowing those individual yards and chasing after them, rather than a blanket search on general selling pages... perhaps if you stipulate an area, folk might be able to give you websites/names etc that have just what you're after? Getting a new horse is such an exciting time - hope Mr/Miss Perfect is just around the corner! :D

There are a few more on H&H though.

Don't know where a skewbald fits in with the 'no bay' thing?

Talented grey but not for novices - perhap has a bit of pep about him? :)

This is my favourite out of them all though, I have to say - the most eye-catching by far!
