So Ive decided the time has come to semi retire my faithfull steed of 11 years, my first childhood pony and one true love, and join all the other adults on proper horses.
Alas, I put pen to paper and wrote myself a list of the perfect horse. I decided that my budget probably wouldnt stretch to Valegro, so I made a sensible list of things I was willing to comprimise on.
So off I went, feed shop notice boards, Facebook groups, Horsemart, Tack Room Frolics, Preloved etc etc etc etc........Infact I searched so many I cant remember what ones ive seen before, what ones ive phoned and tbh I cant even remember the type of horse I was looking for in the first place!
I found a few I liked, phoned them, had a chat, arranged viewing (so far I have seen 3) But the ammount of people who don't answer their phone, don't get back to you and ultimatly don't seem bothered about selling their horse is staggering!
I had orgaised to see one on Monday for viewing Saturday, so Firday afternoon I text the lady just to confirm I would be going and 10:30PM Friday night she replied to say he had been sold! Its just rude! What if I hadnt confirmed I was going? I would have driven a three hour round trip for nothing!
Im finding the whole process very stressful, time consuming and immesnly harder than I ever imagined it could be.
PLEASE could somone reassure me that the right one will come along. Is buyiung a new horse always this difficult? Or am I just making a meal of it ??
