I am horse hunting at the moment and struggling to find much of interest. I am checking horsemart and horsedeals regularly. I have looked at horsequest, although absolutley hate that website! I have attempted to use H&H although cannot look at a single advert as the new site is so bloomin awful! Where else do you all look? I am in Kent and only want to look in the south east (Kent, Surrey, Sussex etc)

IF you're up for a challenge: try projecthorse.co.uk or if wanting something less complicated there's perfecthorse.co.uk

OR bung up a notice at your local feedmerchants/tack shop. Or what about the local hunt? Ours has an e-mail circulation where quite often horses are advertised.

But best way IME is word of mouth; or even better ask your trainer/instructor if they know of anything as they'll be the best judge of what will suit.

Good luck!

What's your criteria and budget?

Horsequest does have a search option, although it's not terribly obvious.

How do you search on horsequest? I don't want to pick horse type - eg dressage, allrounder etc, I want to be able to select area, height and age

I agree it's misleading, but it can be done.

On the left hand side, select any type of horse for sale, say allrounders, and it will change to list allrounders. Then on the top right hand side, just under schools, select search. This will then take to you a screen where you can enter your search criteria. Under category, select 'horses for sale' but don't enter a sub category, ie. no allrounders/event/dressage.

This will allow you to enter age/height/sex/location, but won't limit you to your initial click of 'allrounders', but search ALL the categories for you.

Hope that makes sense.
