Horse insurance - national cos or local vets?

My horse is currently fully insured with vet plan - but i have recently found out my local vet practice does their own insurance scheme.
Im looking for cos and pros please xxxx
 
Hard to say without knowing what they cover/cost... You'd have to compare policies. It would be good from the point of view that you wouldn't have to wait for the insurance co to decide whether you can go ahead with a treatment or not. How does it work re 3rd party, or is it just re vets fees? I quite like the idea of national companies, most of whom are crooks that load the die in their favours, having some competition!
