Horse insurance..

I've just done a quote for Badge - No loss of use and I am only insuring him for 3k, basically just for vets fees.

what do you think would be a reasonable monthly price? It came back with nearly £40 a month which I think is quite a lot!!

Who is good for horse insurance??

I think I pay around £34 a month, and Thumper is insured for more than £3k.

I use shearwater, never had any probs with them and quotes have been cheaper than most.

Contact several companies, except E&L, & go with the best quote, simple as that.

My arab, 11 years old, insured for £2k with SEIB is now $37
WB mare, 17 years old, insured for £1.5k with SEIB is now £34
ISH mare, 13 years old, insured for £3.5k with NFU is £37

Weird that oldest is cheapest?! Guess she is insured for the least value. Been with them 10 years.

mine that is insured for £3k, and £2.5k vets fees is £20 a month - through scottish equestrian

Mine are with NFU £72 a month for 7 yo ISH - insured for 5K, 13 yo cob - insured for 2k and 19 yo pony - insured for £250 (bless)

NFU def the best in my opinion - £33/month for horse valued at 4,000 and includes loads of tack.

I think highly of SEIB. They offered me the best deal price wise, and when I had to claim they were fantastic. Couldn't rate them any higher in any way.

If your main prioity is just vets fees then it might be worth considering insuring for a nominal amount, say £500. This will bring your permiums down, think I paid around £25 a month when I did this

Beau, 6yrs old: nfu £30 a month
ance: 18yrs old: petplan, £20 a month.

Both inclues full vets fees cover, tack, public liability.

Thanks, I ended up getting petplan because they were they only ones who would let me do it online. They were the ones that quoted me £40 to start with - but I knocked off team chasing which must have put him in a high risk group and they knocked it down to £33, which seems much less!
