Hi everyone I have just received my renewal for the girls insurance and it has gone up again even though I have never claimed!! (Hope I haven't spoken too soon!) I'm currently insured with Amstrust, the policy is a good one covering compeition, vets fees, LOU, tack etc
Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good reliable company that is reasonably priced?
Thanks

Unfortunately premiums do go up for pet and horse insurance to fit in with rising vet fees and the number of claims they have had to pay out the previous year in all. They can't offer no claims discounts as it may discourage people seeking veterinary attention when its needed.

I'm not sure who can offer better premiums, I think Petplan can be quite expensive and i've heard bad things about E&L.

Have you tried having a good old moan at them. I'm assuming you have more than one insured? Plus if you've been with them a while and never claimed throw that in and state if you will go elsewhere. May not work but worth a try

Ooooh also, is there any way you can lower your coverage? Ie, are you insured for only the activities you do. If you're insured for things you might do, for example competing at a higher level, you can upgrade at a later date, or if its a one off activity they may be willing to cover you for just that day at no extra cost

Same here, my SEIB renewal is due tomorrow and it's gone up by £50 even though I haven't claimed and I am on the lowest possible scheme taking into account the competitions, memberships, other policies I hold with SEIB etc.
