So Ive just had my renewal through the post, its gone up, I rang insurer as I wanted to increase Value of my horse and add tack.... increased value but wont cover tack due to unsuitable lock on the tackroom, fair enough but still quote has gone up.

Have done a few quotes online and most are coming up with 'subject to a Vets certificate' is this now standard practice?

A few will cover my trailer and tack and come up pretty reasonable on monthly DD, Im just pndering if \I should have a 2 stage vetting so \I can insure my horse, tack and trailer for under £40 a month ( No its not with E&L)

Any ideas/experiences?

I renewed my insurance last summer with a company called EIS Ltd - they are up in Halifax. Was very impressed - polite, helpful and professional staff - went to them on recommendation from a friend.

I'm with AmTrust. I had a vetting done and told them this, but they didn't ask to see the certificate. mine is just under £30 a month (no trailer).
