Horse is grade 3 but I've never evented

So I've never evented, but considering it.
My horse in a previous life did however and is grade 3.
Do I need to compete in the BE80 / 90 /100 open classes/HC?
Any advice welcome

You can compete in regular classes fine. It’s only the area festivals where you have to do open - but it’s exactly the same course so won’t matter

They have seemingly got rid of them as not popular. I do think it’s an issue and why people go unaff on schoolmasters as BE has never quite solved it. Unlike good junior horses who have tonnes they can do as U18s is all open.
Made the qualification easier instead for Areas with two double clears which will bring in better numbers.
