Horse is off to the glue factory. Is anyone else's feeling a little fresh?

Foot other side of stirrup today and we where off rodeo style. Tried my best to stay on but after an attempt to jump the electric fencing uncontrollably and landing in the middle of it, I definitely departed the saddle!

Thank god when I rung mum feeling sorry for myself she told me to man up and get back on because we where okay after that (just about). But ouchh my back, never jumped up so fast in my life when realising I was lying on the electric :/. One of those days I guess, serves me right for always saying I don't fall off enough!

Not yet....dare I jinx it. My horse is odd and always quiet as a lamb in the colder months and fresh from March onwards!

And ouuuuuuch!!!!! Sympathies to you! If any of my horses did that, they'd be shot of lol.

Yep, mine has been wired for roughly last 10 days, ranging from being a nut job coming in from field to a full on bronc out hacking yesterday, and he's usually a very laid back chap! So long as we both stay in one piece I kind of like to feel him with a spring in his step, happy and healthy.

Ours here in NZ are just beginning to feel the effects of the spring grass, bouncing around like idiots - a magnesium salt block is a must in the paddock at this time of year.

Have you had a flush of new grass just recently? Some magnesium will help - if they don't have free access to magnesium a tablespoon in a small feed an hour before you ride will help with calming

Ouch - hope you are ok.

Mine always has a mad day in the spring and then again in the autumn when the temperature drops.

He's take to barging through the field gate - knocked the Y/O over yesterday and just pushed right through the gate.

Hoping he'll settle in a day or two - luckily he's still fine under saddle.

I've just changed him onto dodsons safe and sound, didn't think it would be a heating feed though? Some magnesium is definitely on the list :)

Ouch. Sounds like your mum and my mum are kindred spirits. Although mine is now in her 70s so I seriously underplayed last week's fall.

Bree was seriously snorty dragon when I took her in the round pen yesterday, but I kinda out that down to it being the first time training her since the fall. She's not happy if she's not sure you're incharge.

Yikes! Electric fence adds insult to injury!

I changed mine onto a 'non_heating' feed once, after a week he was really aggressive and all kinds of crazy! So you never know!

I can't see the feed being the reason, he has a fraction of what it recommends on the bag too, but I think a touch of magnesium won't go a miss.

My 2yo is a bit off her rocker at the moment too, but I think I'll put riding on my own to one side for now, thank god my partner was there yesterday as when I got back on, we had to lead him round for a while until he settled.
