So after the controversy of my last thread which I very much took in everyone's posts.

She's 100% fine in herself physically (vet, teeth and back checked). So started bringing her into work with advice from a very knowledgeable friend who breaks in horses regularly.

The mare is happily wearing all tack, long reining and longing. But here is the issue; as soon as someone other than myself comes near her to help me, she freaks. I can lean over her, jump up and down from her etc.. but for example today I was leaning over her with no problems - mare was falling asleep! So I asked a friend who sometimes feeds and/or brings her jn from the field to stand by her in the hope for my friend to lead us... Mares back went up and bucked and would only settle when no one apart from me were near her.

I don't want to fully get on her without someone holding her just in case something happens. So how would you deal with this?

(typed this on my phone so mat not make full sense!)

This will take time and a willing helper but I would get someone else doing the groundwork with her until she is confident with them, you really do need someone to hold her that is capable of really being in control and able to give you both confidence not create issues.

The other way would be for you to be on the ground and get a good rider on board, this is how I usually start youngsters, they trust me on the ground and so does the rider.

It's difficult, my filly is the same, always more interested in me what I am doing than my husband who is at her head.

I think the main problemis that she and I have a kind of code which works, but it's difficult to teach someone else.
