My horse is having corrective shoeing (natural balance) and has pulled same shoe off twice not helpfull at all does any one have same problem and how do you prevent it

I had the same problem with one of mine. Always the same shoe and it was weakining the hoof wall more each time. I used Keratex liquid on it and no longer have the problem. Worth a go and not expensive either.

Suggests that the hoof wall is compromised so probably a diet issue. Try taking them off and going barefoot ;)

Pointless putting stuff on the outside of the hoof when the hoof is made by what they eat and how much stimulus is applied. Just clogs up the pores, prevents the skin being able to breathe (think people who have false nails on all the time) and causes fungal infections.

The other thing to consider is why it's the same shoe. Is it worth getting a bodyworker to have a look and check the horse isn't twisted in it's pelvis (or something) and over reaching on one side? My friends horse has a reoccuring problem with his shoulder. Pulling off shoes and tapping jumps is the sign he needs his physio again!
