Dont really know much detail at the moment but it was at the 4th XC fence on the Novice course. Just wanted to sent thoughts to the owners/ rider and everyone associated.

It must be a very upsetting time for all involved.

How terrible I was in the PC and hunted with Georgie years ago as children, shes a smart pilot too - truely terrible for her and her family.

looked like they were having their best run of this season too, and she looked to have started eventing with the horse
im so sorry to hear this, i dont think i would be able to carry on if that happened to me. RIP x x

Shes had the horse for years, she was bred by the Wheelers - a cracking horse from what I can remember - there is not much worse in life I will send her a card.

oh no how terrible, to awful, i ran on saturday in pn and it was the biggest course i have jumped and wondered if it would give anyone any problems. This upsets me so much I cannot imagine how I'd feel. My thoughts go out to her and her family as the person above said ... not much worse. RIP little horse.

Yep, it was the horseshoe. Madhossy and I walked the course earlier in the day and commented that the jump judges shouldnt have any trouble all day. Just proves, can be any type of fence

I heard that the horse was just running on a little too fast down the hill towards fence 4 (the horse shoe) and just missed its footing on take off ending up in a rotational fall. So sad, my thoughts go out to everyone that knew him.

Terribly terribly sad

RIP little horse. Words cant describe what it must feel like to have this happen to a dearly loved and talented horse

i cant even imagine...

Snap, I also rode with Georgie in PC, although she is a few years younger than me she was always a super jockey and very experienced even at a young age. Very sorry to hear this but glad she is OK. RIP x

Just replied on the CR thread. Such a shame

We left just as the novice sections had started and a couple of people were hammering it down that hill towards that fence.

There was another fall in one of the PN sections as the hold on course seemed to take forever whilst they rebuilt the fence!

RIP
I am glad to hear the rider was ok.
Really have no idea how she could have taken her second horse round afterwards though she must be a very strong person!

Maybe she had to..........it would be very hard to do it a week later. I know one enormously talented rider who felt the shock of that happening to her that she never really came back...
I think the shock might have carried her through. I don't think for a minute she did it without huge courage driving her.......

i was there when it happened and saw the fall, such a tragic accident. georgie was very lucky to come away unhurt! fell awful for the owner and georgie.

Hi friends,

I don't know either horse or rider, but it's upset me. Both enjoying a nice xc one minute, then next minute...

It could happen to us all, at any time.

May the dear little horse RIP now, and may his rider take comfort from the fact that he died quickly, and doing what he obviously enjoyed.

I think most of us on the forum have lost dear equine friends, from one reason or another. But every reason is the same, at the end of the day - that we are all mortal - and still brings the same awful loss.

My thoughts are with you, love BS x
