Horse Killed on Road in Braintree

There was a young horse killed on the road last night near Braintree McDonalds, it had wandered onto the road and been hit and killed outright, the police were there when I got there as I was called at 9pm to see if I could identify it which I couldn't had never seen it before but there again there are lots of horses tucked away in fields that you never see. Was very glad that it wasn't one of my liveries as we have a couple of escapologist ponies on the yard. When I left the police no one had come forward to claim it so they were left with having to get Highways out to dispose of the horse.

Oh God, mine escaped their field on the night of 20th/21st May this year, went 1/2 mile away down a lane, despite all the surrounding fields found a major A road and thankfully someone (still don't know who, but a SUPERSTAR) managed to get them both in a field another 1/2 mile away on the other side of the trunk road. I was so very lucky. Every horse owners worst nightmare.

My heart goes out to horse and owner.

I've not heard through the grapevine or seen it in the local rag? Mind did run over a dead sheep just up from there last year??

We had that about three weeks ago here. Three ponies got out, unfortunately one got hit and killed. Poor wee thing
