i know someone who is going to uni & their horse is pretty talnted & i would hazard a guess worth alot of ££ , but doesn't really want to sell , also doesn't want to loan so they are thinking of leasing , ask my opinion & i'm clueless really on what is a fair lease price

so does anyone know?? is it a % of value or something , i would think it would really limit who would want it , though i do see their point re why should they loan to someone for free when they could get really get messed about , at least payment would show commitment

what do you guys think??

Uuuuuuuuummmmmmm ! the only lease horses I know of are on the safecobs website. by the response I'm not the only one who is clueless !

Loaning a horse doesn't imply that no exchange of money is taking place. I'm failing to see the difference between 'leasing' and a long-term loan.

TBH you will much more likely find a suitable person if you do let them have it for free, very few riders would be prepared to pay and the chances are that if they have to pay it's because they are not that talented. She would be better off contacting some up and coming young riders in the sport that she is happy with the way they ride and train and seeing if they want the horse for a free loan.
