Hi All,

My lorry is due to come straight after lockdown now (was due next week), my test was also due next week for my Cat C. I have a buyer for my towing car who was happy to wait until my lorry test. However with test being delayed, she is still wanting my car.

My close friend has said from day dot that she will happily travel with while i drive the lorry (with L plates) and she also said that if there was a time she should couldnt come, like a lesson during the week, she would happily insure me on her 3.5t. My brother has also said that, with prior warning, i can borrow his L200 to tow with on occasion.

I have just been so used to being so independent with my travelling that i feel so anxious about letting my towing car go. She is paying good money for the car so i worry i may not get the same price if i say im not selling it yet.
I know my trailer will sell easily.. had since new, 4 years old, serviced regularly .. and have a friend that is interested in it so i wont advertise that until ive passed me test .
Am i just being over anxious about letting my car go considering i have these back up options?

Sounds like good motivation to pass your test! You also have back up options. They're temporary so once you pass your test you won't be reliant. But that's what good friends/family do, they help out when you are in a situation such as this. Do you have to travel frequently?

If the buyer has been patient thus far and is offering you good money, sell the towing vehicle now.

has your friend got granny rights?

unfortunatly the only people who ca supervise a HGV learner are those that passed thier HGV test more that 3 years ago.
Granny rights are no longer enough to supervise alearner
