Hi my horse was fresh today and after doing a few laps of the arena he lost a shoe and chunks of his hoof came off with it, he’s not sore or lame on it as we continued our lesson but we are supposed to be hunting on Monday and I’m wondering if the farrier will be able to put a shoe on or if it won’t be possible? Thanks

They look generally in poor condition, a bit thrushy or diseased. I think you need to be thinking more about long term improvement.

Ya his hoofs are very weak but my farrier hasn’t said anything about thrush or white line disease?
Ask him about both of these. And when he has the feet off the ground to take the shoe off and to rasp the wall take a look at the white line area. And ask him to talk to you about it, specific to each foot.

Ok, he shod him yesterday so I should’ve asked him then but I’ll ask him about it, thanks
