Hi everyone

I currently loan a pony a have just been messaged to say she has lost condition so is needing to be rugged and her feed put up

As she is on part loan I'm not always the one who feeds her but is her loosing condition my fault? I have loaned a pony before and never experienced this so not sure if I should be overly worried or be feeling as guilty as I am

Thank you for your help!

Same as above really was it the owner of the horse that has messaged you? how many days a week do you do the horse? does she live out ? how is she kept at the moment is she living out and how much food is she getting.

As a part loaner it is not really your responsibility to made decisions about feeding and rugs that is down to the owner to decide and tell the sharers what is expected, it is not your fault if the owner has not made everything clear to the sharers, it remains the full responsibility of the owner to ensure the pony gets the correct care, feed, rugs and to keep an eye on how she is on a regular basis.

The owner is probably just letting you know that you both need to keep an eye and up the horse's feed and rugs :)

I don't think there can be blame pointed, just ask for some clarification.
