My mate has an X race horse of 15 yrs old (lovely looking horse of 16.2 TB and loads of life in him) she got it about a month ago, but when out riding his stomach makes noices. like it is rumbling.. what could it be, as i feel it's not right.

its natural - i can't remember what it is - but its normal - horses do it from time to time - is it like furling churny noises (so technical!!) - does it go in time to his stride? if so - nothing to worry about - ill find out what it is and let you know... thats my conclusion anyway

Found out what it could be "He needs his bits cleaned!!". My mate will be pleased when I tell her in the morning, that i think i might no the problem. hummmmmmmmmmmm

It is trapped air, usually caused by stress within the musculature and generally only noticable at trot or canter. Nothing to do with him needing his bits cleaned I'm afraid.

Yes, Tia's right - it's trapped air in his sheath combined with muscles in that area flexing as he works.

Nothing to do with needing cleaning.

My 13.2 gelding does this all the time and I've heard it in other males too. Nothing to worry about.
