Great day today. Finished work to a text and numerous calls that horse had injuried himself, he'd run into electric fencing, not jumped, but ran through it ... Back legs have cuts, he's bandaged up and on box rest again now! Only thing I am thankful for is the fact that he had his rug on, or iit'd have been a lot worse.

TB's! Who'd have 'em?!

If it makes you feel any better we had a coloured pony a few year ago that ran through one, took the whole fence out then panicked and ran with it still attached to her back legs. We were dodging flying plastic javelins and eventally caught up with her wrapped around the fencing at the bottom of the field - so its not just TB's that have "blonde" moments! Glad he's ok!

My old boy, bless him, had a hide like a rhinoceros and was wearing a good old fashioned "New Zealand" rug at the time.

I'd left him behind the leccy fence on the other side of the road, but with the gate open (big mistake) while I went back down the yard to get his supper on the go. The plan then was to go and get him back down and let him eat.

Next thing I heard was a clopping of hooves (fast!) and he came down round the corner from the road, complete with fencing, stakes, the whole lot, flying behind him. Quite a spectacle!

But luckily nothing damaged; bless him, they don't make horses like him any more .... :(

Bumblelion, that was my thought!! When I got the text saying he'd done it, I just had that picture of your mare in my head!

Hope yours was ok orionstar, they really are daft beasts!

My mare did this too - ran through the fence took it with her, panicked and proceeded to run through the METAL fencing - bent the fence and broke it and FELL onto the road outside the field!!! came away with a few cuts but nothing major - she was very lucky!!! the neighbours called me to tell me - they said they heard a huge crash and seen my horse on the road lying very still then got up and bolted down the road - luckily someone caught her.

And yes, youve guessed it - shes a TB

Hope your horse is okay - healing vibes xx
