Just started my daughters pony on relax me as surgested by the vet. Had two feeds now, chaff, carrot and 2 scoups relax me as per loading dose and he just throws 85% of it on the floor

Any ideas how to get him to eat his feed. Also if I go down to one scoup will it make much difference if he has not had loading dose, as think he may eat a lower dose (that make sense)

Buy a tiin of black treacle or use molassed sugar beet, provided this is not contrary to dietary needs, also apple chopped small will help.
Other things include mint leaves from the garden, slices of carrot, most ponies are really greedy, but she does not like something!
I have fed Steady up to three of my boys, and none of them refused. Also check you are not over dosing

Start by giving a tiny amount in his feed and gradually increase the amount with each feed The trouble with adding anything sweet is that you could easily be negating the effects of the supplement.
If you really want to give the loading dose, use a syringe. Mix the powder with water and give it like a wormer.

To get my sisters horse to eat Relax Me. We put it into soaked sugar beet pulp, gave it a good stir until it almost disolved then tipped it into the rest of his feed and mixed well and he ate it straight away. Stick with it because it is good stuff.

My horse point blank refused to eat it lol I tried adding mint and garlic but still didnt work, I didnt want to give her anything sugary with it or any extra feed (she is just on a handful of chaff to have supplements in it - didnt see the point of feeding extra to chill her out with a calmer plus she is too fat on grass atm!)

Feedmark Steady Up she loves and licks the bucket clean - and it really has made a difference in her!
