My OH's horse does not sweat even after a hard hunt he will never run with sweat, on Monday he tied up the second time he has done this this season.
Today he had adrenalin injected under his skin in various strengths she expected to see the patches run with sweat only the patch with the highest strength of adrenalin became a little tacky after forty minutes she was surprised with she has gone to consult.
On Tuesday he will have a muscle biopsy if his bloods are back to normal after the tie up we also will do a full blood screening.
Everbody HELP has anyone come across this.

It sounds as though he maybe dry coated. Has he always been like this or has it come on gradually, or just one day he stopped sweating altogether?
In Hong Kong there were/are several horses who were dry coated and didnt sweat, for most it came on gradually i.e. stopped sweating on their neck or hind quarters, until they didnt sweat at all.
In several cases the condition reverted and they went back to normal but in others they always remained dry coated.
In cases of dry coated horses in Hong Kong they had to be managed very carefully as tying up was a very large and real concern. Because they cant sweat they are unable to regulate their body temperature, which can be very dangerous, therefore they must be managed and ridden with this always in mind.
I'm not a vet so dont know why the condition arises or what brings it on, or if there are any cures, but it might be worthwhile looking up the condition.
Good luck

Thanks for that Dab,
Although he moved from lincolnshire to Northumberland he's hardly changed climates !!
He arrived with us and was off work for along time he's never really sweated here I might try and trace his last owner but one to see if he was normal in the past.
