So I had finally put my boy up for sale. I had a great deal of trepidation after reading posts on here and having owned him for 5 1/2 years it was not an easy decision to make (and one I had backed out of numerous times before)

But he sold quickly, to a really nice couple who he made smile (and the lady rode him very nicely). They were very straightforward, even offered to let me keep him over the bank holiday weekend and have been very gracious with me. He went off with the full equine bible of all the information I could think of and has gone to a SJ yard. Another reason for me wobbling was that he has had to be the most sound horse I have ever owned and only saw the vet for standard vacinations (oh and eating a wasp!) in all that time. He also went for the money I wanted so was not a fire sale (if it had got to that I would have hung onto him).

So, big tears yesterday. I bathed him again, met the couple then went off around the fields while my kind YO loaded him. I had already bought my youngster to have another crack at eventing as, while economically really stupid, emotionally was the only way I would let my horse go.

He is also, the only horse I really didn't want to sell but finally my desire to go back to eventing won over and he is a horse who is superb over a showjump and good at dressage - but hates fixed fences. I hope they have as much fun as I did and enjoys his new life.
