Thanks for sharing. I've just skimmed through the consultation document and some of it sounds very sensible while other bits, while sensible on the face of it, would just result in a lot more work for vets etc (e.g. if any equine can become "re-eligible" for slaughter, then most medications would have to be recorded in the passport in case that horse were ever to be slaughtered. Given the concerning frequency with which vets kill themselves from overwork I'd really rather not burden them with any more paperwork). Will fill in the whole consultation survey later this weekend.

From recent experience all i can say is that its all rather a joke ! Nobody enforces the " laws " and offenders seem to get away with it.
The guidelines are to inform Trading Standards of any problems - Yes i did that and was told nothing they can do !
I tried the BHS and more or less the same answer.
