My horse tends to have bouts of being very difficult to lead (striking, rearing and pulling away) and today was unfortunately one of those days! We are working on it with instructors etc and like I say it's a pretty rare occurrence now (it used to happen every time!).
I stood my ground and managed to bring him in on a lunge line, circling him towards our destination although he did get away from me once.
I am interested though if anyone has any insight into why he was angrily pawing the ground during this episode? Almost like he was looking for a space to roll??
When he does explode like this, it always tends to be in the same place. Luckily it's getting more rare but I still have to keep my guard, I am just trying to understand why he will occasionally behave this way?
