Today, I just had the physio out for a second session on Luka. He has been quite tense to ride recently and i think he's pulled his back over christmas sometime. He has improved in the last two weeks since she saw him but is still unwilling to stretch fully over his back, and also has some tightness in the poll.
She mentioned having a session under sedation, it's like having 5 sessions in one apparently! so my question is, has anyone had any experience with treatment under sedation?

Secondly, i forgot to ask her if there were any supplements which may help him, do any of you know of any that really work?

thanks!

My physio does treatments under sedation if the muscles that are a problem are deep.

My friends horse which I ride had some treatments last year after he hurt his neck, and he came back into work better than he was before the injury! She didn't just stretch his neck but his whole body. He had 2 treatments, and a year on she can now treat his whole body a lot more effectively because the muscles are "softer" than they were before.

It's expensive, but if your horse has an injury or residual, niggly prblems it's worth it! Your insurance will pay if you can get a vet referal.

I had an horse that was very stiff generally and I gave him a joint supplement called equiflex that I got good results with. Several of my clients now use it and they all have seen improvement.
