I was wondering if anyone has known a horse to have this problem?

When my horse walks, for the past few months, on and off, he's started "popping" his off hind pastern. You can see a visible "pop", and hear it as well.

It doesn't seem to bother him at all, and he is perfectly sound.

He has been seen by 4 different vets, 2 farriers and a physio, and none of them know why he does this, or how to get him to stop. I can't think of anything that happened that could have made him start it in the first place. He's had that leg scanned, x-rayed and nerve blocked (and the other hind scanned and x-rayed for comparison). Nothing showed up on the scans or x-rays and the nerve blocks did nothing to stop the popping noise. Exercise doesn't seem to make a difference, and neither does box rest or turnout.

It's almost as if he likes doing it now, as when his mind is on other things (such as an exciting hack), he stops popping the joint for a while. He also doesn't make the noise in trot or canter.

The vets have just said to carry on as normal, but the noise bugs me and I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar problem?
