There is a huge variation! Alot of adverts seem quite bad at explaining the qualities of a particular horse so until you chat with the owner or go and see the horse it isn't always apparent if the price is reasnoble for the horse.

Done a bit of unaffil covers alot of bases. Done some as a youngster with scope to go further, done some and got super ordinary results and no scope? Super safe/anyones ride but responsive through to 'quirky' and a bugger to work and hack? There are so very many variables in the horses ability, quality of it's training up to the point of sale, confo, it's character, breeding, age, height etc; before you even get into the owners cirsumstances and wether they are selling as they have to be rid asap or if they are selling but in no rush or if they are after a profit as they bought themselves to bring on.

Such a huge range of variables, no wonder the prices vary alot!

I think you would be looking to spent at least £3k for an older horse, ramp the price up from there as the results and rideability improve and age decreases!

age 10, done a bit of showjumping, ode's & dressage.

I would say at least £4k for a decent, sane 10yo horse that will do a nice dressage test and jump a course. This is because I guess 10 is the golden age of horses that everybody wants - they should be relatively well educated and at the peak of their comp career, yet you will still have plenty of ridden years left with the horse.
