Looking for a new project but dont have a tonne of money to spend, when do you think horse prices will be at there lowest?

Or if anybody wants to horse shop or knows of anything I am looking for, 3-7yo, 14hh+, colored/lots of white is a BIG bonus, no full TB (just never had a good 1), NO VICES and no lumps and bumps. Green (or unbroken but handled lots) is fine as long as they are genuine. Looking for something to bring along as allrounder/eventer. MAX price 1500 prefere something within 1.5 hrs drive from Oxford.

I find there cheaper before Christmas, as some people need the money.

After Christmas you have the spring to look forward to. Last year i liked a horse but couldn't afford to buy nov /dec, but the same horse was up for a £1000 more in the January. just my experience. :) hope this helps x

Oh it is cute but may be I should have said the bigger the better as my friend may part share a suitable horse but needs something 16hh ish +, would look for something smaller but would have to be cheaper.

i dont think there is a massive difference before/after Xmas, just that around xmas is the cheapest time to buy! before xmas people will need the money for Xmas, after people will have no land left untrashed so will want shot of them.. If you find something this side of xmas, grab it, if not then you will want to be pretty sharpish about getting something, because in the spring prices will start to increase :)

Not sure if you can go a tiny bit higher (£1750) but have a really smart full up 14.2hh bay gelding, lovely model definate county standard WHP or event model. He's six years old, has a lovely temperament, he was broken at four and then just left in a field for nearly 2 years through no fault of his own (a friend got fed up of seeing him there and finally bought him!!) He's hacking out, popping a pole (showing huge scope). My plan was to rough him off till Spring as I don't have an arena and I work fulltime so my riding time is limited to once a week at mo but I would consider a sale to the right home, happy to email you pics if you're interested!

I would agree now is the time.

I have never seen so many apparent bargains the h@h mag as I have seen this week. Not necessarily what you are looking for but there are some seemingly really good buys and lets face it usually the h@h shows the premium of the market.
