Horse protein digestion.

Hi, the company i work for has been offered another product by flora, as the only importer into the UK of flora products they see this as a fairly interesting venture. The problem is that the levels that the tests have come back with (carbs, protein etc) are higher than usual feeds, the protein content is 35%! I was wondering how well horses would digest this amount of protein as its over double most feeds on the market.

I think I remember reading somewhere that they just pee the excess protein out.

ive heard that too huch protien can make horses really fizzy
