Hi as the title really, Reo still finds going to eventing parties quite stressful, and as a result wont drink anything while we are out, so its a bit worrying now whilst the weather is so warm especially if the ODE lasts all day, I read about horse quench to encourage horses to drink ( can't remember where now) so wondered if anyone had had any experience with it. thanks :)

Horse Quencher is literally AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tried some through a friend and got a whole tub next day - loads of people on my yard have if now and not come across a horse yet who doesnt like it. I know lots of people on here have started using it too.

Have a look on their fb page but its SO SO SO brilliant!!!!!!!

I should add i have no commercial attachment to promoting it - just think its awesome!

unfortunately Millie used to drink it and now refuses it!

she used to love the apple but after 3 or 4 tries she decided she didn't like it afterall and wouldn't drink.

Lucinda at HorseQuencher said she is the first horse they have heard of to actually go off it (i did say she can be a contrary mare ;))

Milli Im finding the same.
Snoopy and Winston both drank it fine the first go, now Snoopy turns his nose at it, winston just dips his lips in it.
It was so hot last Saturday and we took the horses to do fast work. I couldnt get Snoop to drink at all, but Winston had a sip.

I recommend it as others have taken to it, but Snoop seems to have turned his nose up at it :(

Lucinda is lovely and has been so helpful too.

Corroy isn't fussed on it. She will put her lips in and that's it :( If you scoop it up from the bottom she will eat it out of your hands.

I get the same- Millie will rinse her mouth with it but not actually drink anymore :(

was a bit concerned as we evented last weekend at Wolverhampton in the roasting heat and she didn't drink at all.

Lucinda is sending me some root beer samples to try and i am also going to try tripling up the dosage of the apple to see if that helps.

I bought some to try.... Jemima had a short drink the first time, but since then refused it. On Sunday in the heat I put small chunks of apple in the water so they floated on the top and she had great fun with that - so I'll go with that next time - cheaper too!

Our pony is not a keen drinker when out, so in this hot weather I just chuck a bit of Speedibeet into the water and that works a treat!

Thanks everyone for your replies, I have decided to give it a go and try to find my nearest stockist, but in the meantime I hadn't thought of speedibeet water, so I will try this on Sun at our event. Thanks:)
