Zebras are much less co-operative and more difficult to ride than horses, owing to their unpredictable nature and tendency to panic under stress.
What it doesn't say is the Zebra is 14 months old, and there's an appalling video clip in the Sun. He's far too big......
Why he couldn't wait till he was older, he's not a two yr old race horse for god sake, and as a trainer he should know better!!! http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/new...on-a-zebra.html

In total agreement with you over this. The photos looked bad enough - but looks even worse now we've played the video. Knowing for a fact that this so-called trainer likes to pin-fire his 2 year olds, this latest bit from him, doesn't surprise us at all.

I agree. in my rushed reading this morning I read the telegraph article and just thought 'what a sight' and thought to myself that at some stage that man is going to get his comeuppance for trying to 'train' a zebra to be a ridden horse. Reading the sun & mail, it verges on abhorrant, that poor animal. Have to say I still think Mr Zebedee will 'win', what a silly man, and very sad.
That is just bloody discusting. The poor animals is just a baby.
He has the nerve to say>>>[ QUOTE ]
He had never been touched, and at first was coming at me with his front feet and biting, but I purposely never hit him and tried to treat him with complete and utter kindness. At the moment it is working."

I should bloody well think not too. He speaks like it's his God given right to treat the animal any way he wishes. It sounds as though he is giving himself a pat on the back for treating the animal with kindness - something that he should naturally do anyway. That said, I dont think riding 14 month old zebra is treating it with kindness - Full stop!!!
The animal dont look too comfortable under his 10st frame.
He saids zebeedee prick his ears up each time they go to the pub, yeah right so that is why in the video the poor thing keeps stopping and he has to "pat" zebeedee on the bum.
The poor animals looks such a baby still
Yes poor little thing,,animal cruelty comes in many different forms not only through neglect and my eyes this is animal abuse
What will this little boys back and leg look like in a couple of years ???
That poor creature! Far too young and small to be ridden in such a manner. Hope Mr. Zebedee sees him out the side door. I would love to see that video.
Makes the animal welfare charities look like a joke! To think that there is nothing they can do to stop this sort of cruelty. He would have to be starving or crippled before they could take action.
Oh and also he is wrong thinking he can have a drink. Its illegal to be drunk in charge of an equine on the road!
