Just wondering here;

Are you a mega organised or a bit of a "I'll do that when I have the time" horse record keeper?

Do you have them in a file, or online, or shoved into a drawer or envelope?

Can you lay your hands, instantly, on worming/vaccination/shoeing/feeding/etc records or is it a case of tip out the contents of a drawer or envelope and rifle through the debris?

i keep a spreadsheet & hard copy off my 'expenses' above £20 such as rugs, farrier, rent, vet etc & i have another sheet that details exactly how much i spent on hay & straw over the winter. but i am a bit of freak about how much he's costing me especially as hay/straw is an added 'extra' paid on top of my rent. i have a folder that houses most of my paperwork for car, lorry, horse & dog but its V disorganised!

I am very organised and keep everything of Axels in a folder in a drawer in my bedroom. His passport is in the lorry though

I know the feeling!

Yes I have to keep everything in order as I have so many horses. All papers and anything relating to each horse, are kept in folders within a big folder.

Insurance, Vet bills, Passport etc goes in a folder, farrier appointments etc go on a calendar, as for expenses I keep bills but I never add them up it's too frightening.....I figure if I'm destined for a heart attack I'll just have it..........I see no reason to hasten it happening

All filed. I have a lorry file, a schedules file & a 'horse related' file for dentist / insurance etc.

Wouldn't dream of having a s'sheet for bills / expenses cos I'd prob faint if I saw the awful truth...

Each horse has its own folder with everything in it eg passport, freezemarking, papers, vet certificates, dental records etc. I have a sperate file for al my vet bills. I have all my horses vaccinated on the same day and their teeth/backs are all checked at the same time (makes it so much easier). I write all specific dates on the calendar (or in my phone) so I dont forget anything

I have a folder with passports/insurance documents/bills etc. in, white board with notes, weights, due dates for everything and show calender on it. I also have a spread sheet of feed costs

I keep a big day per page diary in the feedroom where everything gets recorded such as vaccinations, farrier, coverings, scans, vets and just about anything else.

In the house I keep a file for each horse where things like passports and covering certs etc are kept, but all the horses' files are kept within one big file.

I have lever arch files for each of them - with dividers labelled "Farrier" "Vet", "Insurance", etc and a separate folder for general - Programmes for shows - trailer stuff etc.
I also have a diary at the yard where I put in farrier/vets appts and write up the work they have done.
I probably need to get out more....

I used to, so have a folder of everything I bought in the first couple of years, but nothing since then
