Hi, Does anyone know of any horse rescue centres in east coast of Scotland. Am trying to find out if two horses I reported have really been sent to a rescue centre of if I'm being fobbed off. Thanks.

I did have a list. Lost in the depths of other papers.
If you contact the Nationional Equine Charity Council they will be able to let you know. If it is a big one they may be registered with them. If small, like us, they may not be, we cannot afford the yearly fee. Also try ILPH they are realy helpful.

It would be best to ask who you reported to as many rescue centres will not give details of horses taken in. We don't as we like to feel people can aproach us. If we told the world we would not be able to catch those that slip through the net.
Good luck and i do hope you find out. As a reporter you are normally kept informed.

I have asked the officer who had been dealing with this case for some time, he said that the owners of the horses had asked a rescue centre to take them, but he couldn't remember what it was called, only that it was on the east coast. I know he can't give me personal details, but as I have been involved for nearly a year now, and even offered to take the horses on myself. The owner was going to take me up on the offer, but that didn't happen, due to the fact they wanted to walk the horses 10 miles to my place. One is skin and bone and 35yrs old the other 25 yrs and both arthritic. I offered to get transport for them, but they could't wait the 2 days needed to arrange. I think they where just messing around. they also in my and many others opinions fob the RSPCA off.So am wondering if these horses are really in a rescue centre, or have been moved out of sight.
