Hi,

I'm living in Manchester and am a fairly experienced rider looking for horses to ride, I live in Whalley Range and just wondering if anyone keeps horses nearby as previously I have been paying to ride at Carrington or coming back to the Lakes to ride a horse I used to loan. I would love an arrangement such as part loan/share or someone who needs help with their horses/ponies. I am 5 ft 2 max and weight 8stone, have done a bit of jumping and schooling, showing, but have hacked out lots on different horses, confident with most horses in varying situations, beach, busy roads, in groups or on my own.

Any help with this would be great as I am suffering serious withdrawal symptoms!

would you travel out as far as Marple? I've got a friend trying to find a sharer (assuming she didn't find someone this weekend) so PM me with your email address and i'll pass it on.
I also wouldn't loan one from Ashton Hall, too many reasons why not!

Oh dear, sorry! 2 of my flatmates used to ride there whilst at manchester uni and did the teams etc, they semed to like it! x

Hi Hobnob - have PMd you! Have a look at the noticeboards in tack shops and in the small-ads/Loot. There are lots of stables around the Altrincham/Lymm/Wilmslow area and you might find someone is looking for a sharer. Of course you are always welcome to come and spend hours stripping my old girl's winter coat out if your withdrawal symptoms are that bad :)

Look on the cheshire horse website they have loads of horses for loan / share

looking at them there are a good few on there that would be well worth you looking at - the 2 greys!! Piggy is on a yard with good facilities and its own show + great hacking, I was on there when I was a kid and is no further to travel than Carrington. Wilmslow is also a clean run depending on what time you are travelling.

There is no way I would advise John Shaw (Manchester Equestrian) or Tom Davin (Ashton Hall) it will not lead to a happy ending + (sorry to anyone on here that might take offense) Both yards lack a little class IMHO

Ah sadly, the old girl has been retired for 5 years and we just have in-hand hacks on Sunday mornings!! Did you used to ride on Fairy Lane?
