Hi all, does anyone know if Horse Riding Surrey is still going and, if not, could anyone recommend a trekking centre in Surrey, Sussex or Berks, that provides hacks for experienced riders with long canters especially on blood horses? TIA X

Nothing on their FB since 2020...

Tally Ho who go out into Windsor Great Park. Yard is in Englefield Green https://www.tallyhostables.co.uk/

Sussex Riding School based Horsham way, who offer various rides https://thesussexridingschool.co.uk/ (friend didn't have the best experience with them customer serice wise though, and not sure if she ever got the ride or refund!)

Westerlands based in Graffham, West Sussex https://www.westerlands.com/horse-riding-pony-trekking - relatively new but do offer a range of hacks. I know of it but wouldn't know what's actually like.

Aces Horses (facebook) have some lovely aninals and could probably arrange a ride for you. Not a traditional hacking centre though.

Ive only seen them at the odd event at my yard, but the riders always seem to be having a good time!

I rode out with these guys last weekend, someone I know through the horse world runs it and takes the rides out - I had a really good time. They do beach rides (whenever the tide is right, flexible with this), 1hr hacks and 2hr hacks up on the downs. On the 2hr we hacked through the bridleways, up onto the Downs and then had 4 or 5 good gallops around a big circle route then came back. They have a couple cobs, a couple ID types, full Connemara, a big 18.2hh TB, an ex Grand Prix dressage horse, a gaited horse that I have forgotten the breed of but is very unusual and the owners warmblood who was a good level show jumper who people also ride. I might be forgetting a couple that I didn't see. I found it really friendly and laid back, the horses were all mannerly too and happily live out a lot of the time I believe.
