hi, i have my horse in a rug i got of ebay, he is in a 6'0 and just getting neat on him at chest, he is 2 1/2 and only had rug on from oct when it fitted perfect, i knew i would be getting a new one before xmas as his chest is the only narrow part of him so has to broaden out, so i am buying him one now to put on this week, will get today online and going for 6'3 knowing my luck will need a 6'6 in 2 months, but thats just the way it goes, dont mind as it will fit friends horses anyway. but my question is what do you think of the Requisite Maverick Combo Medium Turnout rug. he is in a 600d and a 300g fill at min, the Requisite Maverick Combo Medium Turnout, has a 1680 doesnt say how much fill, just says poly fill so have asked company to let me know as dont want anything less than whats he in, he is a sport horse coloured, he is nice and warm in what he is in. so just looking for more information, or what you would go for. i dont rug my other horses as all get a great coat, and so has this boy but he has skin problem in summer so just want him in a rug to keep him right, so he has been rugged just week before halloween. will keep the rugs he grows out of as my friends horse is rugged and she will use them for spares when im done with them. also i need a full neck turnout medium maybe heavy as long as not too warm of a fill. thanks, hot choc to anyone still reading.

My two year old is unrugged- what sort of skin problem means he has to be rugged up? If mine gets anything (vile weather only and I'm in the north east!) it's a lightweight rain sheet. I did feel bad in the snow last year, and put him in a 200g rug- he broke out in scabs, I'd overheated him! This year he has a gut and gullet clipped out to cool him down am is still toasty in his nakedness. Obviously everything is different, but if you're turning him out in a HW unclipped, once he's in work (and I'm assuming clipped) what will you turn him out in?

I go on the rule that as long as the tips of his ears are at hand temp, he's warm enough. I don't usually check under rugs for temp unless I think they're overheating.

he had a sever allergic reaction in summer and came out in bumps all over and lost hair and itched like mad, vet said it was like a form of sweet itch but not sweet itch as was all over his body as well as mane and tail. but after months of caring i have got him right, he is 24/7 turnout and in a med rug 600d and 300g fill, thats what i want to keep him in but getting a bigger size just wondered what if anyone bought a Requisite Maverick Combo Medium Turnout what they thought of it. his coat is fine now, he is not clipped but has a smooth fine coat not too fluffy this year thats why i rugged him as his coat wasnt like last years or other horses, but it is in good condition, just needs a med rug so keeping him in a 300g as he is happy in it, i dont want any warmer fill as he seems just nice but maybe a thicker denier not sure yet as i am happy with the 600d. thanks
i dont have him in work at min as he is only 2 1/2, he is mouthed and longreinned, but left now till spring then i will bring him back in, to carry on his training, so he has winter to relax and play with other horses.

Hi

I bought the heavy weight Requisite combo, the heavy weight is 320gsm so would imagine the medium is about 250? Anyway I wasn't impressed with it to be honest, its not very deep - horses belly hangs out and he's definitely not overweight, it's quote tight around the shoulders, the neck isnt very generous and the rug seems to slip quite a bit...

I've just bought a Shires combo from Robinsons which I'm really pleased with, nice and deep and fits well!

Someone at my yard had a requisite rug and it seemed to slip all the time and was generally a bad fit. Every time I saw the horse the rug seemed to have slipped round and was hanging half off.
