As we've got some spare stables and I have an OH with too much time on his hands we've been dabbling a little in dealing, some successfully, some not so... but you live and learn

anyway... we went to goresbridge in september and really enjoyed the experience, and were considering going back there again at some point, however... OH is thinking how about europe?? So... any places that we could look into?? We have some contacts that go over quite regularly and OH is going to give them a call to pick their brains but I thought I'd try on here and see what everyone thought

Thank you!!

I know a lot of the ones flooding the market over here at the moment, haflingers, hanoverians etc, are coming from somewhere in Belgium and they must be coming pretty cheap judging by what they are selling here for.

The French breeder we talked to recently all of a sudden did want crazy money, I guess because he's had a few horses do well now. The biggest issue in France is that they are heavily subsidised by the government and so there is not always the same pressure to sell. That said, they breed lots and lots of horses.

We're going to the auction mentioned above on the 8th and did attend the preview (well, part of it . . . not the best directions there

). Good quality horses and the feeling was the prices would be reasonable but not "PSI sale" crazy.

Apparently there will be quite a few people attending from the UK - you should come, it will be fun!
