Who has been? Just wondering what to expect, I'm worried I might come home with the most sorry looking creature there!

Anyone been to any Scottish ones that they would recommend?

Hi there, i bought my horse from goresbridge horse sales, i went looking for a mare 3yrs 15.2hh+ to break or bring on. Prices had risen the year i went, typical! I was sent a catalogue prior to the sale annd highlighted every horse i thought i might like. On arrival at the sale i spent all day looking round stables and crossing horses from my list. In the end i impulsivley bought a 3yo TB gelding 15.3hh. He is a lovely temperamented horse and exactly what i wanted. However buying horses from a sale isnt for everyone. Make sure you know what your doing. at Goresbridge you can request a blood sample for a reasonable fee to check if your horse has been drugged! which can be a good idea. shipping from ireland was great! i used dunlop horse transporters and they looked after my neddy for a few days and shipped him to my door for £200

Would you mind telling me what you paid for him? I am looking for something similar age & height that will hopefully event.

I paid around £1950 for him hes reg and passported with weatherbys etc. You will struggle to find a nice 3yo for less than that. I had a budget and stuck to it, its easy to get carried away! (luckily my dad did the bidding for me) I reccomend you take someone with you if you go. Feel free to ask anything else. PM if you want pics. i have some of him at the sale.

Fab that's about my budget & from your other post he sounds very much like what I am looking for.

I would definately not go alone, I don't trust me!

Thanks for your help

Depends what sales you go to. At cambridge sales you will pick up a 15.2hh 8 yr old foreign horse. Good allrounder. Sold sound and warrented quiet to ride for around £1200.
