Horse Search Agents?

Has anyone ever used a horse search agent before? I am sick of people wasting my time, cancelling viewings when I'm halfway there, showing up only to find the horse lame etc. Presumably agents source horses that aren't currently on the market through their many contacts. I'd be curious to know if anyone on here has used one, and if so what their experience was like? I'm not even looking for a fancy horse but my search is still proving to be difficult.

Sorry no help but just to say I feel your pain! I’ve pretty much given up my search unless something finds me as I’m fed up of sellers not being honest, lame horses with terrible confirmation and failed vettings

Sorry to hear that you're having the same problem. I have been looking for months and am paying livery in the meantime so I don't lose my stable. It is a real struggle to find something suitable.

I’ve seen one on Facebook called prestige equine search. I know of them but haven’t used. They did seem to find some nice ones but only based on their own page!

I've seen that page too. I wonder how likely it is that they can source good horses which aren't advertised online.

I bought my mare from Ben at Prestige Equine search. I am thrilled to bits with her after 6 months of nightmare searching. Two of the horses he sent me details of weren't on the open market and sold within 24 hrs.

I viewed her on Saturday. Ben organised vetting Monday afternoon. She was home on Wednesday. I love her. ?

I had a really specific wish list. Ben found me what I wanted in 10days. I turned down 2 that weren't right. One I loved had a viewing and sold straight away. Number 4 was my mare.
I would recommend the process one hundred percent.
You have to be committed to buy though. It's not for those who are window shopping.

He deals mainly with dealers. I refused to go and see a horse unless it was actually for sale to me. I have been so frustrated by the multiple viewings on one day. He will check the horse is what it says it is. His checklist after my viewing was lengthy!!!

oh and did I mention. I LOVE her ???
