ok so a horse is for sale - girl comes to try it and really likes it but wants to do a deal of:

pay half now
Keep with current rider and pay half running costs for 2 months (girl doing GCSE) costing of £1k
then pay rest of money 2 months later

or owner knocks off the £1k and takes a slightly less offer for him
??????

To me its too complicated, someone either wants the horse pays their money and takes it or not.

What happens if said horse becomes ill or lame etc before final completion or what if it kicks someone and they claim damages, who insures.

I would take a cut or negotiate they split the difference ie £ 500 each.

depends how desperate the owner is to sell? if she can afford to hang onto him for next two months she may as well.

However I think I would go for it if it was down in writing that the "half now" was a non-refundable deposit.

Either they want it or nt ...
surely you dnt look at a horse which you cant afford or cnt take care of for a while?!

well on the advert it says i would sell a half share to someone which i would to keep with current rider but that would be for him to be kept there for another 6months - year and hopefully make more money on him x

Oh if this is gadget I didn't think a complete sale was what you wanted, I thought you wanted to find a co -owner and keep him with Lola.

In that case it depends if you want him to go to private home but my view is that if I was a buyer I personally would not risk losing my dream horse over £1000. And conversely if this the only sensible enquiry you have had I wouldn't lose a sale for £ 1000.

Depends on your personal choice, sell and be done or hold out for a co-owner if you want to retain some part of him. Personally if he is good enough to be a serious international horse I would keep hold cos its a once in a lifetime opportunity, if he is a good national horse he will be one of many and I would sell.
