horse shedding summer coat already

please tell me i'm not alone in this! i've got a show to go to in a month and i want him all sleek and shiny, not falling to pieces.

Exactly what I was thinking yesterday when I was grooming Archie. Winter is on the way!

Yup my little 24yr old Connie x mare is casting already and always does in August. When she was in hard work I had to clip her in September. She does though cast her coat very quickly in spring and all the clip lines have gone before everything else on the yard.

I noticed when mine rolled today there coat was left on the grass!! 4 months untill xmas and 2,3 months until stabled at night!!

my old boy is- he's nearly in his winter coat already!! strangely enough, the TB hasn't started yet, and in the past he has got his coat before the oldie!!!

Depressingly enough I was thinking exactly the same thing last week, and one of mine only lost the last of his winter coat in july....

Mine is too, it is depressing but at least it has prompted me to send my clipper blades off to be sharpened.
