I checked on my girl this morning, put a lightweight waterproof on (she is not clipped and normally isn't rugged heavily as gets very hot) and left her out - she was fine, it is windy and rainy here but she has lots of shelter. Went down this pm and went to bring her in and she was really drawn in behind and shivering very badly. It has been raining all day but her rug had kept most of the wet off. I was very worried so rubbed all the wet areas down with straw, dreid her off in cooler blanket and then stabled her in a slightly warm stable rug but nothing to heavy as didn't want to over heat her. I checked on her an hour ago and she was fine eating hay but still seemed agitated and I am off to check on her again in a minute.
On one hand I feel awful for letting her get so cold but on the other I am more worried as this behaviour is out of the ordinary for her, she doesn't normally feel the cold and I have never seen her shiver, let alone that badly. It is a horrid day but it has been worse??? Should I be worried/ looking out for soemthing else?
