So I'm helping my friend look for a horse, so far we've been to see one who turned out not to be quite what he was supposed to...

We've found 3/4 more worth going to look at from their ads, will call tonight and find out more (been looking in the usual places, HHO, horsemart etc, not had opportunity to go around local tack shops yet).

So was hoping for a bit of help...

Does anybody know of the following, perhaps by word of mouth etc:

Approx 15.2hh
5-9 years old (if the younger end of that bracket needs to have a sensible head on it's shoulders!)
Mare or Gelding
No TB's (her stipulation, not mine, don't want to start that debate again!)
General riding club type, just something to have a bit of fun on, doesn't need to be a world beater and she's not interested in jumping so doesn't need to do anything more than pop a x-pole
Good to hack alone/company
Must pass a 5-stage vetting
Private seller only
Be within 45 mins or so travelling distance of Derby
Max. budget of 3k, preferably to include tack within that, or a v. lovely horse to make up for it!


ANY suggestions would be fab!

i know of EXACTLY what she after but she is more like 4.5k
 
Not seen much for sale in east midlands for that height which isn't a TB or TB X tbh, have you looked on Welland Valley Feeds website; The Horse Exchange, Horse Quest? you might have to look further afield
 
i know of one but its a thoroughbred 5 years sensible head pops a fence hacks alone company nice enough paces two thousand pounds including wardrobe as owner needs it gone
 
There is a nice chunky black welsh D cross mare for sale on my yard, really nice little horse, loads of potential, but she is only 4 but is very safe and sensible. We are in Nottingham, pm me if you would like to know more
 
Got one at our yard, she's a small 15.2 I think she's around 8ish, liver chesnut mare. She has done prenovice eventing and has a lovely safe feeling jump. Think she is advertised on the pony club website. Only thing is she's come to our yard to be sold so wouldn't say it was private sellers but were eventers so dealing isn't our thing
 
Can I hi jack thread Bedford northants area safe 16ish hh 10-13 years safe sound horse for hacking and little hunting required as lost my mare suddenly this month and need to replace her op to £3000, and how long for nfu to pay out on loss, thanks

MiCsarah - Will PM you for some details, it may still be something she'd consider, it's more a proper dealer she's looking to avoid

Sorry for my late reply but I only have HHO access at work at the moment!
 
My YM has a 7yo 16hh TB x Suffolk Punch, chestnut mare for sale. She's very sweet to be around. She's calm but can nap at times so needs some confidence & reassurance from her rider. We are in South Leicester.
