Also posted in NL - allrounder/hunter wanted. I've decided to dip my toe into the market and see what's out there.

My ideal shopping list:

- 15.2-16.1h
- 6-12 year old
- mare or gelding
- middleweight type
- RC horse but with a focus on hunting/xc
- Straightforward, not too nutty outside the hunt season
- Reasonable flatwork/paces - don't mind bringing on/schooling but am not after a true project/just backed youngster
- Good jump, particularly over xc fences of course
- Temperament and ability more important than anything else though

Reasonable budget for the right horse. Prefer within about 2 hours drive from London ie South East area.

I know this is quite a list and everyone is after these wonder horses! But I reckon they exist cos I have one (more sj than hunter though) :) Horse may not tick all the boxes but maybe there are a few out there that really are this good.

Also looking at low level eventer types but realise that's a different budget altogether!

Jaffa cakes and haribo for any happy helpers :)

Thank you! I am hoping to attract jaffa cake loving people who like to cruise the internet.

I agree - the first one although overheight does look really nice and I'm 5'4 so if a littler person can ride, maybe I can too. Do like the look of her - nice solid hunter type.

I did see some nice ones at Clip Clop and one at Prestwood. But it was actually a forum member who recommended I get in touch with someone on here - don't think I'd have seen the ad but very glad I got in touch :) Fingers crossed for Friday.

Hi, Ive hunted this (last) year for the first time, and loved every min of it, hunted both wednesdays and saturday, my daughter (16) hunted my cob on the last sat of the season and loved it so much we decided to buy her a horse for hunting.
We brought our mare from Laura Barber
http://www.chilverfarmstables.co.uk/
found her very very helpful and buying from her was like buying a tin of Ronseal paint, horse did exactly what it says on the tin.

Thanks - had a mare vetted today and SHE PASSED.

So excited - have her on a short trial to she how she goes, but she seems like a doll :) Not an out and out hunter but then again, neither am I, and the most lovely horse to ride. Woop !!!!
