^ As the title, anybody had recent experience of sending an ISH passport off for change of ownership & horses name (was still registered under a foal number), how long did it take?

It's been about 10 days now, not that long I know but I'm impatient and the vet is coming to do vaccinations next week so would really like it back!

Where do you send these? My new horse has a White book, but I'm not sure where to send it, and I'm worried I'll never see it again! What do you send with it to confirm you are the new owner?

Hmm yes it wasn't the easiest to track down but I decided that Horse Sport Ireland was the right place - link here for the forms and it has the address on the bottom of the forms http://www.horsesportireland.ie/breeding/breeding-forms.97.html

Didn't seem to need to send anything other than the passport, form and money (sent cheque in £ rather than Euros) - no signature from previous owner required. Hoping I sent it to the right place, sent it recorded and is showing as been delivered ... just not come back to me yet!

Hi polly
Please let me know how you get on as I need to send one off to Ireland

shall share my sucess (or failure - hopefully not!) in the coming weeks, they really don't seem to make it easy to find info or understand what to do given how many ISH passported horses there must be in England!

The address you send it to is in the passport itself! Just done it, took 9 days, in fact ownership changed with Horse Sport Ireland (used the Northern Irish one as could send a cheque) and BS registered, all within 2 weeks.

Thanks folks, sounds like I might be able to expect it back soon.

There was an address on the passport but the passport agency name had changed since the last time it was updated so had to go on a search for the right address to send it to - hoping I found it!

What address have you all sent it too please?

Don't knock horse sport ireland, they are WAYYYY more easy to deal with than any UK passport organsisation.

Couldn't agree more, would deal with them any time. :)

My boy is registered with the Irish Horse Register and when i got his passport changed to my name it was really quick ,week - 10 days max , so i expect you'll see yours next week , but if you don't then e-mail them , i did ( just to make sure i was sending it to the correct current address) they're really helpful and friendly.
