Horse sucking flank in??

Always worm a new horse on arrival - so i'd personally be inclined to do it before Saturday.

On the feet front - can you get it back to old owners for their farrier to do??

trying to find a pic of a tucked up horse for you now!

Could be dehydration, could be nerves from being in a new environment, could be the onset of colic, could be MANY MANY things. Can you take a piccie?

Ok, so probably no underlying problem them as the vet would have listened to heart, lungs etc.

It's probably more likely to do with the stress of travelling and moving. I'd be tempted to give him some electroyltes in his feed for the next week. And if you are still concerned after that give your vet a buzz.

We have a little race horse that's been with us for four weeks now. She was terribly tucked up when she first arrived, and did take a few days to relax.

My horse went like this the day after his first farm ride, he sweated up loads, was quite stressy but refused to drink. He wasnt overly dehydrated (pinch test) but after some sloppy feed, soaked hay and water he was much better. It took about 3 days for it to go completly back to normal.

Could be stress, dehyration on may need worming.

Agree with Amymay, get some electrolytes into him and make his feeds super wet, drench his hay and hopefully he will be right as rain soon

In addition to advice already given, I'd be on the look out for any other colicky symtoms - stress & change of diet/routine are common causes of colic.

Farrier came today and took a look at him, he has been round horses all his life and spent 27 years in the cavalry...he said he thinks it is conformation! I took some pics but they are not very good. Horse seems calm, is eating fine, no obvious colic symptoms. His dung is also 'proper horse pooh' now, whereas before it was very flakey! Think it may be stress, but will keep a close eye on him. Think he enjoyed the lavender bath though! :-)
