Hi

My horse sweats up really badly when he travels - it doesn't matter if he's in a box or trailer, or which way he is facing, or if he travels with no partitions, or partitioned in. He comes off dripping. And I mean literally dripping.

Does anyone have any ideas of things I could try?

Hi

I actually think it would be better if there was more air - my horsebox gets quite hot. But there's not really much I can do about it. And he sweats up no matter what he is in....

What breed, age and past work has your horse done? When i worked in racing most of the horses sweated through anticipation of what was happening

my girl started to do this when she was travelling badly. I gave a calmer a go. She had 3 trips with 3 calmers and now she is travelling like she used to. Perfectly calmly and coming off at the other end fresh as a daisy rather than coming off like she had been in a sauna.

Do you rug at all for the journey?

Also perhaps look at how he is travelling/ how you are driving. As another thing with my mare was that we found that she struggled with the road camber, when travelling on her own leading me to start weighting the other side of the trailer down
