horsey has been having a few bolting issues in the school and losing confidence.
so my OH offered to cycle ahead of us out hacking for a bit at the weekend to give us some company, i was a sceptical but...
horse totally took to the idea and walked along quite happily, no crazy scanning the horizon issues, much more relaxed

can try some trotting if OH improves his fitness

v proud of them

In the dim and distant past I used to go out on my pony with my boyfriend on a bike. Pony was far less spooky BUT when we were out by ourselves if a bike went past he used to try to take off after it!

yup - we take our tb out with me on board and OH on bike, pony is perfectly happy with this and i like having Oh there 'just incase!!'

LOL this reminds me of me and my lad at the weekend - my friends horse is still lame and Georgie has done little hacking on his own and is very very nappy. So my friend walked out with me she likes to jog as well so she jogged part of it - went really well until she jogged round the corner out of sight and poor Georgie nearly had a heart attack, he even neighed after he, it was soooooo funny. Bless.

never thought of that,
a few bikes went past us after and he seemed to behave fine (not trying to trot off after) especially with the lady who rang her bell at us on the way past - very helpful!

My BF came out with us the other week. took a while for beasty to realise the bike wasnt going to kill him cuz he was worried bout the whirring noise, but was fun! nice to have company and the boy wanted to play with his new big bike!

My horse (one in pic <--) will NOT go out hacking without mum, I think its a great idea to build confidence. I think the horses appreciate the person there that they know, gives them confidence!!
