Horse that has had surgery- Would you buy?

Further to my surprise/shock when my horse was x rayed last week and the discovery he has had surgery as a screw was found right at the top of his cannon bone i was just wondering had anyone else bought a horse a few years down the line discovered it had surgery/ fractured a bone? would you have bought it if you had known?
